Fire Service Visit - Nicky Nook and Pendle

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed a very informative visit from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. They talked to the children about what to do in an emergency when at home. We discussed fire risks in our homes, such as mobile phones being on charger overnight. We also learnt about the importance of being safe when crossing roads. We discussed the importance of wearing bright/reflective clothing to help drivers see us. They also shared with us the importance of wearing a seatbelt when travelling in a vehicle.

Whilst in school the firefighters also visited Year 1 and 2. They spoke to the children about good and bad fires, how to exit a building safely if there's a fire and good bedtime routines. The children were also shown how to 'Stop, Drop and Roll'. They then had a go at some role play scenarios.
